Abstract

The article examines financial innovations in the context of global transformations encompassing digitalization processes, globalization, and structural changes in the global financial system. The growing role of financial innovations is substantiated as a key instrument for improving the efficiency of financial markets, enhancing financial services, and expanding access of economic agents to financial resources. Scientific approaches to interpreting the essence of financial innovations are generalized, which allows them to be considered as a multidimensional phenomenon that includes the introduction of new and improved financial products, instruments, technologies, services, and organizational solutions. It is determined that financial innovations act not only as an element of modernization of the financial system but also as an important driver of its structural transformation. The evolution of financial innovations is studied, reflecting the transition from traditional banking operations to digital financial ecosystems. It is shown that the current stage of development is characterized by the active implementation of fintech solutions, blockchain technologies, artificial intelligence, and automated financial management systems, which significantly transform the architecture of the financial sector. The key financial innovations of recent decades are analyzed, including digital payment systems, online banking, investment platforms, cryptocurrency assets, and algorithmic financial technologies. It is established that their implementation contributes to the reduction of transaction costs, increased speed of financial operations, and expansion of financial inclusion. The main factors influencing the development of financial innovations are identified, including technological progress, globalization of financial markets, increased competition among financial institutions, changes in consumer behavior regarding financial services, institutional and legal regulation, and the impact of crisis phenomena. It is shown that the interaction of these factors shapes the current dynamics of financial system development. It is concluded that financial innovations are a system-forming element of the modern economy, ensuring the transition to a digital, automated, and integrated model of financial market functioning.
