Ecosystem Value in the Digital Transformation of the Labor Market

Abstract

This study is aimed at the theoretical exploration of the essence of the ecosystem value phenomenon in the context of global digitalization and the analysis of its key determinants within the modern labor market. Particular attention is paid to substantiating the transition from linear production models to network-based structures, where digital labor platforms become the core infrastructural element. The authors seek to develop a conceptual architecture that systematizes the process of value creation in decentralized economic environments. The methodological framework of the study is based on a comprehensive approach combining the theory of network effects, the concept of platform economy, and ecosystem analysis. The research employs hierarchical modeling methods to construct a multi-level structure of value formation, as well as systems analysis to examine the interconnections between technological, social, and institutional components of the market. The study argues that digital transformation fundamentally reshapes the sources of economic value, shifting the focus from individual labor contribution to the collective synergy of ecosystem participants. The authors propose and elaborate an original model of a multi-level architecture for ecosystem value creation. This model integrates four sequential levels: resource (human and digital capital), market-network (interaction dynamics), platform (technological coordination and algorithmic management), and institutional (regulatory framework and trust mechanisms). It is determined that ecosystem value has a distributed nature and emerges not only at the moment of service delivery but also through data accumulation, the development of reputational capital, and the optimization of transaction costs within digital interfaces. It is demonstrated that traditional methods of labor regulation and performance evaluation require adaptation to the conditions of the gig economy, where platforms act as new institutional intermediaries. The practical significance of the study lies in the potential application of its results for modernizing public employment policy and strategies for the development of digital labor ecosystems.
