Abstract

Modern sports activities require the use of highly accurate, timely and analytically reliable tools that can ensure the objectivity of results and increase the effectiveness of athletes' training. In this regard, information technologies are becoming an important factor in the modernization of research, since they significantly expand the possibilities of collecting, processing and interpreting data. The purpose of the article is to study the challenges and prospects for the development of information technologies as a tool for increasing the effectiveness of sports activities. The research methods include general scientific methods of abstraction, analysis and synthesis. In order to achieve the research objectives, the dialectical method of scientific cognition was applied in the work. The abstract-logical method of theoretical and factual generalizations was used to formulate conclusions and proposals. The information base of the study was the scientific works of Ukrainian scientists on the topic under consideration, the results of the authors' own research, etc. The results of the study revealed that information technologies in sports activities are a set of digital tools, software and hardware systems that automate the collection, processing and analysis of data to optimize training, increase the accuracy of refereeing, monitor the health of athletes and manage sports processes. The methodological principles, scope and limitations of the development of the use of information technologies in sports activities have been expanded. The scientific understanding of the role of information technologies in sports activities has been deepened to improve the analysis of sports results, the quality of research, optimize the training process and ensure greater competitiveness of athletes at the current stage of sports development. To propose promising areas for the development of the use of information technologies in sports activities based on big data analytics for predicting competition results, analyzing the effectiveness of training programs and assessing the athlete's potential and improving the business aspects of sports events. Conclusions. Information technologies are a promising and important tool for increasing the efficiency of sports science. Their systematic implementation and use opens up opportunities for optimizing the training process, increasing the scientific validity of research, developing training programs adapted to the needs of athletes, and, as a result, increasing the competitiveness of athletes at both the national and international levels.
