Abstract

Modern conditions of enterprise functioning require adaptation of management systems to rapid changes in the market environment, which necessitates the improvement of management accounting methods. The use of financial and economic indicators is one of the key tools of strategic management, as they ensure the integration of information flows and allow effective response to challenges related to planning and control of enterprise activities. However, there are problems associated with the detachment of traditional indicators from strategic goals, which creates the need to develop new approaches to their analysis.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the theoretical foundations and modern approaches to the use of financial and economic indicators in the management accounting system, identify key problems of their application in the context of strategic management and develop recommendations for improving the information support of management accounting.

The study used general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, a systems approach, comparative analysis, as well as modeling methods to formalize the relationships between financial and economic indicators and the strategic goals of the enterprise.

Results. The article analyzes existing approaches to assessing financial and economic indicators and reveals their main limitations, such as the isolation of individual blocks of indicators, insufficient integration of financial and non-financial data, low efficiency and reliability of information. The introduction of a balanced scorecard as a data integration tool to ensure strategic management is proposed. Recommendations are developed to improve the information support of management accounting by implementing modern data analysis technologies and formalizing the links between strategic goals and performance indicators.

Conclusions. The results of the study confirm the need to transform existing approaches to the analysis of financial and economic indicators in the context of strategic management.
