Agricultural Holding Management Practices Based On Sustainable Development

Abstract

The article explores the fundamental principles of the sustainable development concept and its significance for modern businesses. It analyses and summarizes the experience of a leading Ukrainian agricultural holding in implementing these principles. It specifically examines the crucial interplay between the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of sustainability, demonstrating how these interconnected elements contribute to a more holistic and integrated approach to business management. The article highlights successful practices and specific projects undertaken by the agricultural holding that aim to achieve a balance between economic growth, social responsibility, and ecological sustainability and in what way the company translates its sustainability commitments into tangible actions and measurable results. Special attention is given to innovative approaches employed in agricultural production, including advancements in energy efficiency across the value chain, responsible and effective waste management strategies, and proactive support for the development and well-being of local communities. The research explores how MHP's focus on these areas not only contributes to a more sustainable operation but also enhances competitiveness and generates positive business outcomes, such as cost savings, enhanced operational efficiency, improved brand reputation, and stronger stakeholder relationships. The article suggests promising directions for future research, particularly in the development of robust tools and methodologies to assess the effectiveness of SDG integration into core business processes and the creation of comprehensive systems of KPIs to measure progress towards achieving these critical goals.
