Abstract

Digitization of Ukraine’s financial sector is gaining momentum, especially against the backdrop of global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and martial law. In these conditions, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to automate business processes, increase the efficiency of operations and improve the quality of customer service is being intensified. The integration of the latest technologies in the financial sector is becoming a decisive factor for maintaining competitiveness on the world stage. At the same time, new regulatory challenges arise that require adaptation of the regulatory framework for the safe use of AI. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to study the current state of AI development in the financial sphere and determine prospects for further progress.

The purpose of the study is a comprehensive analysis of the current state of AI implementation in the financial sector of Ukraine, an assessment of the regulatory challenges accompanying this process, as well as a study of the potential for further development of AI technologies to ensure sustainable economic growth and innovation in the financial sector.

To achieve the goal, the methods of comparative analysis, synthesis, review of scientific and analytical literature, as well as analysis of legal acts in the field of digitization and financial technologies were used. In addition, the method of expert assessments was used to study the prospects for the development of AI and its impact on the financial sector of Ukraine.

The results show that Ukraine is actively moving towards the digitalization of the financial sector, in particular through the integration of artificial intelligence. Despite the difficulties caused by martial law and economic upheavals, the introduction of AI is helping to automate operations, improve risk management, and secure transactions. Ukrainian banks and financial institutions are already using advanced technologies such as biometric identification and automated decision-making systems. At the same time, it was found that the legal framework needs to be improved in order to create a safe environment for further digitization.

The conclusions note that Ukraine has all the necessary prerequisites for the further development of artificial intelligence technologies in the financial sector due to a high level of technical expertise, developed IT infrastructure, and active integration of innovations. To achieve success in this area, it is necessary to continue to improve the regulatory framework, in particular in the field of personal data protection and cyber security. AI has the potential to become an important factor in economic growth and increasing Ukraine’s competitiveness in the international arena.
