Development of methodological approaches to assessing agricultural entrepreneurship ecosystems

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the study, generalization, and improvement of methodological approaches to the assessment of agrobusiness ecosystems. Purpose: The aim of the research was to substantiate the directions for the development of methodological approaches to the assessment of agrobusiness ecosystems by optimizing the evaluation process, systematizing key methods, and improving the set of evaluation indicators. Methods: To achieve the set goals, a comprehensive approach was used, involving the analysis of scientific literature, as well as systemic, comparative, and critical analysis methods. Recommendations were formulated for improving the approaches to the assessment of agrobusiness ecosystems. Results: It was established that the assessment of entrepreneurship ecosystems should be carried out in ten key stages, specifically through the identification of system components, analysis of its resource provision, dynamics of internal processes, the state of the external business environment, competition, interaction of participants, assessment of potential risks, as well as measuring the success of functioning and potential development opportunities. It has been proven that the adaptive capacity of entrepreneurial ecosystems should be analyzed when conducting their evaluation. It is noted that in the process of evaluating agrobusiness ecosystems, it is advisable to combine and integrate methods such as case studies, data analysis, association rule mining, matrix methods, decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory, mapping, SWOT analysis, business ecosystem network analysis methodology, frame methods, visualization methods, longitudinal studies, applied political economy analysis. The set of evaluation tools should be supplemented with indicators of the synergistic effect of the entire ecosystem's functioning and complementary effects for the activities of individual participants. For agrobusiness ecosystems, it is advisable to use additional indicators for analyzing the attraction of land and human resources, the intensity and efficiency of the ecosystem’s functioning, and its impact on employment and income levels in the agricultural region. Conclusions: The practical application of the developed proposals will contribute to the comprehensiveness and systematic nature of the assessment, allowing for consideration of the specific characteristics of agrobusiness ecosystem functioning.
