The impact of globalization on innovative development in the agricultural sector

The article is dedicated to studying global trends in innovation development within the agricultural sector and justifying the consequences of globalization's impact on the innovative development of agriculture. The aim of the article is to investigate the influence of globalization processes on the innovative development of the agricultural sector, identifying key challenges and opportunities faced by farmers in the context of increasing integration into the global economy.
The study showed that innovative development in agricultural production is a priority for most countries around the world, as ensuring food security, increasing productivity, and improving resource efficiency require the implementation of new technologies. At the same time, globalization serves as a powerful driving force, creating new opportunities for the transformation of the agricultural sector, particularly in the direction of integrating innovative approaches. In the context of global economic changes, innovations cease to be just a competitive advantage and become a necessary condition for the survival and successful operation of enterprises in international markets.
The positive consequences of globalization's impact on the innovative development of the agricultural sector include: accelerated technological exchange, manifested in the rapid implementation of artificial intelligence, Big Data, drones, automated systems; attracting resources from international financial markets, venture funds, grant programs, and international development banks to finance innovative projects; the formation of global innovation clusters of innovation giants that become sources of advanced solutions; unification of quality standards and environmental norms, promoting the development of "smart" agriculture, certification of organic products, and the introduction of blockchain; expanding access to leading scientific developments, educational programs, and international experience; the development of ecological initiatives, the implementation of technologies for soil conservation, rational use of water resources, and reducing the impact on climate change; automation and digitalization of agricultural processes using IoT, sensor technologies, and robotic systems.
Negative consequences of globalization's impact on the innovative development of agriculture include: distortion of innovation processes in developing countries; monopolization of technologies and their uneven distribution worldwide; the risk of technological dependence on developed countries; threats to cybersecurity in the agricultural sector; the intensification of environmental risks, including soil degradation, loss of biodiversity, excessive use of chemical fertilizers, and pollution of water resources; uneven distribution of investments between developed and developing countries; cultural and economic homogenization in the form of the loss of local agricultural practices and traditional farming methods.
In order to minimize the negative impact of globalization processes on developing countries, it is advisable for these countries to develop mechanisms to stimulate their own scientific research, support startups, and promote international cooperation. This will enable them to ensure sustainable innovative development in the agricultural sector amidst the globalization of the global economy.
