This article identifies that risk management plays a key role in maintaining safety potential and contributes to the sustainable functioning of industrial enterprises. It is proven that constant risk monitoring, as well as the integration of prevention measures into the overall strategy of activity, allow for high stability and effective management of production, financial and technological processes. The main approaches to risk analysis and assessment are described, covering both quantitative and qualitative methods, allowing for informed management decisions. The importance of forming a safety culture, where each employee considers himself responsible for safety development, is substantiated. Such a culture not only minimizes the likelihood of emergency situations, but also ensures a prompt response in the event of crisis events. In addition, it is established that the strategic nature of risk management involves long-term planning and taking into account dynamic changes in the market environment and technological innovations. The article describes the structure of a modern risk management system, where the analytical component is focused on identifying, assessing and monitoring risks, and the management component is aimed at implementing specific measures, coordination and control. It has been established that an integrated approach makes it possible to reduce costs associated with potential threats and increases overall competitiveness. Special attention is paid to institutional factors that influence the formation of a favorable environment for the implementation of risk management and ensuring sustainable security development. The materials of the article may be useful for managers and specialists of industrial enterprises seeking to optimize their own risk management system, as well as for scientists studying the issues of security development. The proposed conclusions and recommendations are an important contribution to the formation and improvement of modern risk management models.
