This article explores the prospects and challenges of implementing the investment policy for food industry enterprises. The aim is to investigate the theoretical and methodological foundations of the strategic prospects and challenges in implementing investment policy within the food industry. It is highlighted that, in forming the strategic management system for the development of food enterprises - and its key component, strategic monitoring - it is necessary to identify promising sectoral transformations on both global and local scales, detect factors of future challenges, and recognize potential opportunities. Such strategic analysis should also account for general economic and social trends, the emergence of new production and marketing methods, new consumption forms and cultures, and new markets for traditional products. The analysis of the main sectors of the food complex indicates that the level of competitiveness and strategic prospects for its development are closely tied to the country's overall development, the population's quality of life, basic food prices, and both quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the workforce, among other factors. This impact is mutual: societal development trends shape the strategic prospects of the food sector, and conversely, the development level of the food sector determines quality of life, safety, and population well-being. The primary direction for improving management technologies in investment is digitalization, which transforms the marketing system (research, promotion, integration of consumers into a unified system), material and technical supply (updated supplier cooperation mechanisms), and operations (reducing production and overhead costs). It is substantiated that dynamic changes in political, economic, and social life necessitate the monitoring and analysis of the strategic development processes in the food industry and its raw material base, particularly to enhance investment policy and optimize investment volume and structure in the industry.
