Improvement of professionalism of specialists in the maritime industry of Ukraine

In modern conditions, new requirements are imposed on personnel: the employee's readiness for the process of continuous professional development and mastering new knowledge; the employee's universalization, associated with the mastering of several specialties and even professions; have the ability to quickly master the latest equipment and computer technologies, professional mobility and readiness, in accordance with the requirements of the labor market, to quickly master a new profession, a new workplace, with knowledge of the business (sometimes - languages), communicate with foreign colleagues (clients, customers) and perceive changes as a normal mode of modern production.
The quality of the workforce is becoming a crucial intangible factor in the competitiveness of enterprises and the economy as a whole.
One of the main conditions for the functioning of maritime transport is the strict fulfillment of the task of timely delivery of cargo (passengers) to the appropriate port and the safety of navigation.
The article focuses on the current problems of professional training of future maritime specialists in Ukraine. An analysis of international (Code and International Convention on the Status of Ships, IMO recommendations, Directive 2008/106/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council [1], etc.) and national regulatory documents on the maritime industry and the state of reform of maritime education in Ukraine in accordance with international standards is carried out.
The problems in the field of maritime education related to the implementation of international and the development of new educational and industry standards are highlighted. The main trends and directions for the development of maritime education with the use of the latest technologies in the future are presented.
The article examines the process of organizing professional training for maritime professionals, which includes such main stages as secondary, secondary vocational and higher vocational education, postgraduate training and retraining of specialists. The article emphasizes the need for cooperation with seafarers and companies, which allows preparing employees for future professional activities.
Based on the analysis, the main principles of training specialists in the fleet and the service sector of maritime activities are highlighted. On the basis of a higher educational institution, the process of managing the educational space is studied, including the functions of the activities of educational entities and the integration of the content of professional training. As a result of the analysis, the author concluded that the described structure of professional training for maritime specialists in the dual education system is appropriate and effective.
