The article is devoted to the study of the theoretical principles of managing logistics processes in e-commerce. It is established that e-commerce is an important area of differentiation for the company's sales in the context of the development of mobile applications, the implementation of artificial intelligence and the personalization of services. The relevance of the study is due to the need to improve the theoretical principles of managing logistics processes, which significantly affect the customer experience and economic efficiency of e-commerce. The purpose of the article is to develop the theoretical principles of managing logistics processes in e-commerce by clarifying the basic categories and expanding the classification of logistics processes for the needs of operational management.
In the theoretical substantiation of the essence and features of the formation of logistics processes, the methods of analysis and synthesis, generalization and systematization, induction and deduction were used. The grouping was used to classify logistics processes for the needs of operational management.
According to the results of the study, it was found that there are no unified approaches to determining the essence of the category “logistics processes of electronic commerce”, its features as a management object have not been revealed. The author's definition is proposed: “logistics processes of electronic commerce are a set of interrelated logistics operations that are carried out in the process of fulfilling an online order, and form information, material and financial flows for optimization, which are used by organizational, analytical, control and other management methods”.
It was determined that the logistics processes of electronic commerce are influenced by the conditions for fulfilling customer orders and ensuring the economic efficiency of the logistics activities of the subject of electronic commerce. To improve the information support of operational management, it is proposed to expand the classification of logistics processes by using the following classification features: the scope of logistics management, the degree of influence on the economic efficiency of logistics activities and the level of delegation of logistics operations.
Specification of the categorical base of logistics processes management will contribute to improving the information support of operational management, increasing its efficiency through the use of effective management solutions.
