The impact of digital transformation on labor productivity in the IT sector

The digital transformation of enterprises is a significant factor in enhancing their competitiveness and is an effective tool for managing organizational change. It enables flexibility, adaptability, and rapid responsiveness to market dynamics by integrating digital technologies into all aspects of a company’s operations. This modernization encompasses comprehensive changes in organizational processes, business models, and management systems to use digital solutions efficiently. Through digital transformation, IT sector enterprises can optimize costs, increase labor productivity and establish sustainable development approaches to ensure long-term efficiency and innovation. The purpose of this article is to identify the main trends of digital transformation in the IT sector and to assess its impact on labor productivity, taking into account organizational, technological, and social factors. Methods. The research methodology is based on the analysis of current scientific literature and statistical data, as well as the use of comparative analysis, synthesis, systematization, and expert surveys of IT specialists regarding changes in work processes caused by digital transformation. Results. The results of the study indicate a significant impact of digital transformation on improving labor productivity in the IT sector. The most influential factors include the automation of routine operations, the implementation of artificial intelligence tools, the development of flexible employment models, and the improvement of internal communication systems. At the same time, certain risks associated with digital transformation have been identified, such as increased emotional strain, the need for continuous professional learning, and adaptation to new digital environments.Conclusions. Digital transformation of business processes contributes to increasing labor productivity in the IT sector, especially under conditions of effective management and ensuring proper support for personnel during the transition to new work formats. The results confirmed the importance of a strategic approach to innovative changes, which considers the human factor as one of the key elements of successful adaptation of enterprises to updated technological solutions and digital business processes. It revealed patterns that can be used to develop practical recommendations for improving digital strategies of IT companies, focused on sustainable development and effective use of human potential
