Abstract
The introduction of green standards and practices, the stimulation of green investments, and the transition of business to the principles of the circular economy are becoming integral conditions for a successful "green" course, which opens access to European markets. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the features, potential, advantages, and disadvantages of "green" investment as a mechanism for ensuring strategic changes in the sectors of the national economy.
It has been established that green projects are a powerful driver for the sustainable development of communities. The elements of the potential of "green" investment, their advantages, disadvantages, and principles of formation in modern economic conditions are substantiated. Standard features of the implementation of "green" investment in foreign practice are also highlighted: the formation of large-scale financial flows, diversification of investment portfolios, focus on innovative development, growth of ESG-investment, and employment stimulation.
It is proven that the economic benefits of green investment are associated with attracting capital to "green" industries in order to diversify regional economies; stimulating the development of related industries and services through the formation of new value chains; creating new jobs; increasing tax revenues to local budgets, which allows financing important social programs and infrastructure projects. It has been determined that "green" investment is not just an environmental initiative, but a strategic tool for building a more sustainable, prosperous, and viable future for Ukrainian regions, ensuring a balance between the economic growth of specific industries and environmental protection. In terms of structural transformations of the economy, such investments are beneficial both today and in the long term.
Therefore, green investing is not just an environmental initiative but a strategic tool for building a more sustainable, prosperous, and viable future for Ukrainian regions, ensuring a balance between economic growth in specific sectors and environmental preservation. These are investments that bring benefits both today and in the long term.
