Economic feasibility of using tiered solution Architecture in strategic planning of digital projects

The current stage of digital transformation is characterized by a high level of dynamism in the business environment, which requires enterprises to find new approaches to managing digital projects. Traditional architectural models of software systems (monolithic, microservice, multi-tier) demonstrate technical efficiency but remain insufficiently focused on predicting economic parameters, particularly implementation time, cost volumes, and the level of return on investment. In these conditions, Tiered Solution Architecture (TSA) becomes essential, as it combines architectural and economic aspects, allowing enterprises to evaluate various scenarios for the development of digital projects while taking into account strategic priorities. Purpose. The study aims to substantiate the economic feasibility of using TSA in the strategic planning of digital projects and to determine its differences from classical architectural approaches. Methods. To achieve the goal, methods of comparative analysis of architectural models, economic modeling and ROI assessment, systematization of management parameters of digital projects, as well as methods of graphical visualization of results (tables, diagrams, graphs) were used. Results. It has been proven that the TSA should be considered an evolutionary approach in system design, which combines the technical principles of software solution architecture with the economic parameters of digital transformation management. Unlike classical architectural models, TSA forms the basis for making management decisions that focus not only on the system's functionality but also on the strategic economic goals of the enterprise. The proposed three-level TSA model (MVP, optimal, and ideal solution) enables a comparative analysis of implementation scenarios based on available resources and expected results. Conclusion. The results of the study indicate that TSA is a relevant and promising approach in the context of modern digital transformation challenges, as it not only facilitates technical design but also transforms it into a comprehensive management tool capable of supporting strategic planning, forecasting investment returns, and minimizing risks when choosing architectural solutions.
