The integration of digital tools into the auditing of financial statements is becoming increasingly relevant in the modern economic environment, where accuracy, efficiency, and transparency of financial reporting are crucial. In Ukraine, the digitalization of audit processes is an important step in addressing the challenges posed by rapid changes in the business environment, globalization, and the growing volume of financial data. Despite the clear advantages of digital tools such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and big data analytics, their adoption remains uneven among audit firms in Ukraine, particularly between large international companies and smaller domestic enterprises. This indicates the need for a comprehensive approach to advancing digitalization in the audit sector. The purpose of this study is to analyze the current state of digitalization in the auditing of financial statements in Ukraine, evaluate the practical application of key technologies, and identify opportunities and challenges in their implementation. Methods: analysis of scientific literature, generalization, systematization, and comparison. Results. The study revealed that while large international audit firms operating in Ukraine have successfully integrated modern digital tools, many small and medium-sized firms face significant barriers, including financial constraints, a lack of technical expertise, and an underdeveloped regulatory framework. Blockchain technology is promising for enhancing transparency and reducing fraud risks, but its implementation is limited by high costs and the need for specialized knowledge. Similarly, artificial intelligence and big data analytics provide significant advantages in terms of accuracy and efficiency but require substantial investments in infrastructure and personnel training. The conclusions emphasize the importance of creating a favorable regulatory environment, investing in professional education and training, and strengthening collaboration with international organizations to accelerate the adoption of digital tools in Ukraine. The study underscores that the digitalization of auditing is essential for improving the quality of financial reporting, building trust among market participants, and aligning with global trends.
