Diversification of agricultural enterprises in modern development conditions

Abstract

Abstract: The implementation of the diversification strategy is one of the key factors in achieving a competitive advantage of agricultural enterprises and contributes to its successful economic development at both the micro and macro levels. The purpose of the article is to study the features of diversification of agricultural enterprises in modern conditions of development. Research methods include general scientific methods of abstraction, analysis and synthesis. In order to achieve research objectives, the dialectical method of scientific knowledge was applied in the work. The abstract-logical method of theoretical and factual generalizations was used to formulate conclusions and proposals. The information base of the study was the scientific works of Ukrainian scientists on the topic under consideration, the results of the authors' own research, etc. The results of the study revealed that diversification of agricultural enterprises in a market economy is a strategy for expanding the range of products and activities in order to reduce risks and increase the sustainability of enterprises by diversifying their sources of income, which includes the reorientation of crop and livestock farming, the development of processing, the introduction of resource-saving technologies and the development of new activities not directly related to the agricultural sector. Scientific approaches to studying the theoretical and conceptual principles of determining the role of diversification of agricultural enterprises in the context of implementing their economic policy have been investigated. Methodological approaches to assessing production and economic indicators have been developed, which involve the use of statistical, economic-mathematical and computer research methods and allow taking into account the resource potential of the organization, specialization, crop rotation requirements and internal needs for agricultural products. A comprehensive methodology for assessing the economic condition of agricultural enterprises and the possibilities of their diversification and clear proposals for improving support for agricultural production and promoting diversification opportunities have been proposed. Conclusions. In the context of implementing the economic policy of agricultural enterprises, the diversification strategy is fully justified, since it has a number of attractive aspects that contribute to increasing their competitiveness, financial efficiency and success.
