Abstract: The integration of greening and digitalisation processes determines the current vectors of global economic development. In such conditions, there is a need for a scientific rethinking of the concept of the ‘green economy’, which is an important tool for ensuring sustainable development and competitiveness of states and enterprises. Global digitalisation provides new meaningful characteristics through the introduction of innovative technologies. That is why research into the transformation of the concept of the ‘green economy’ in the context of digitalisation is important from both a theoretical and practical point of view, as it allows us to identify mechanisms for harmonising environmental and technological development strategies. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the theoretical and methodological foundations for transforming the concept of ‘green economy’ in the context of global digitalisation. The article uses systematic and comparative approaches, methods of generalisation, logical analysis, structural-functional and graphical methods, which made it possible to trace the evolution of the concept of ‘green economy’ from an environmentally oriented model to an integrated digital environmental paradigm of sustainable development. The results of the study show that digitalisation is a fundamental factor in the transformation of the ‘green economy’, changing its content focus and institutional mechanisms. The author's vision of the digital ‘green economy’ as a multidimensional system in which environmental, technological, social and managerial components interact in a digital environment has been formed. The key functions of the green economy have been systematised. Promising directions for the digital transformation of the green economy have been outlined. The risks of global digitalisation of the green economy have been identified. A system of indicators for assessing the effectiveness of the digital green economy has been proposed. It has been proven that global digitalisation is driving a shift from the concept of ‘green growth’ to a model of ‘smart sustainable development,’ in which digital technologies not only increase productivity but also become a tool for environmental responsibility. The transformation of the concept of ‘green economy’ under the influence of digitalisation is not only a theoretical trend, but also a practical necessity for the formation of a new model of economic growth based on sustainability and innovation.
