The impact of global trends on the modern business models transformation

Abstract

Abstract: Rapid changes in the modern economic space and business environment lead to changes in all areas of activity and businesses, which is reflected, including, in the business models that modern enterprises operate. The purpose of this study is a systematic review of modern economic paradigms and relevant business models of transport enterprises, which are ideologically related to the concept of sustainable development. This study characterizes the main modern economic paradigms - the sharing economy, the green economy, the circular economy as derivatives of the global concept of sustainable development. It is established that "green business", which involves environmental responsibility and minimizing environmental damage from business, is a concept that corresponds to or does not contradict all modern economic paradigms. The main features of the relevant business models, their examples for the transport sector, and the relationship between business models in the context of their gradual transformation and correlation are determined. It has been established that almost all modern business models are green business models, the “greenest” is the circular business model, which is the pinnacle of the evolution of modern business models in accordance with sustainable development. Green business models are becoming relevant for Ukrainian enterprises, which allows, on the one hand, to take into account the real financial capabilities of the business, and on the other hand, to move step by step in accordance with the global trend of the modern world - sustainable development. Thus, the practical majority of new business models that are being formed and comply with modern economic paradigms can be considered green, as well as tools for achieving the goal of sustainable development. The place of each type of business model in their systemic totality is determined, which is necessary to improve the theoretical representation of the system of modern business models and their correlation in accordance with the global trend of sustainable development.
