Analysis of the Impact of International Logistics Corridors on the Development of Ukraine’s Transport Infrastructure

Abstract

The purpose of the study is a comprehensive study of the influence of international logistics corridors on the development of the transport infrastructure of Ukraine and their strategic importance for the country’s economy in the context of European integration and globalization. In particular, the analysis is focused on determining the role of these corridors in stimulating investments in the transport sector, modernizing infrastructure, increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian transport enterprises and strengthening the country’s logistical attractiveness for international business.

Methods. To carry out a detailed analysis of the impact of international logistics corridors on the development of the transport infrastructure of Ukraine, a variety of research methods were used to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the analysis: economic analysis, statistical methods (including the analysis of statistical data to assess the state of the transport infrastructure, the wear and tear of roads, and the volume of cargo flows), methods of analysis and synthesis (applied to generalize information from various scientific publications concerning international logistics corridors and their impact on the transport infrastructure of Ukraine).

The results. The study analyzes the impact of international logistics corridors on the development of Ukraine’s transport infrastructure, focusing on key challenges and opportunities for the country’s integration into global transport networks. In particular, the results of the study reveal that the wear and tear of Ukraine’s transport infrastructure is about 70%, which critically affects the efficiency of transportation and competitiveness on the international market. To modernize and develop the infrastructure, it is necessary to attract more than 20 billion dollars of investments.

The study showed that international logistics corridors play a key role in the development of Ukraine’s transport infrastructure. They contribute to investment attraction, modernization of transport routes and ports, as well as integration into European and Asian logistics networks. They contribute to the integration of Ukraine into global trade networks, which can lead to an increase in GDP by 1–2% per year due to an increase in the volume of cargo flows. Increasing logistics efficiency thanks to these corridors can contribute to the economic growth of the country and the expansion of export opportunities. International logistics corridors are an important element of the global economy, providing not only the transport of goods, but also promoting economic growth, investment attractiveness and interaction between countries. Investing in the development of the infrastructure of international corridors increases the competitiveness of Ukrainian goods, in particular agricultural products, on international markets. Implementation of effective logistics solutions can reduce transportation costs by 15–20%.

Conclusions. Ukraine’s integration into international logistics corridors has the potential to significantly increase the country’s competitiveness on the world market. To realize this potential, it is recommended to take the following measures. Formulate and implement a state program aimed at attracting foreign investment in the modernization of transport infrastructure, in particular through public-private partnerships. The estimate of necessary investments in the amount of 20 billion dollars should become the basis for the development of financial mechanisms that will ensure the implementation of projects. Use the latest information technologies and automation to optimize logistics processes, which will reduce transportation costs and increase the speed of cargo delivery. Actively cooperate with international organizations and neighboring countries to expand the network of logistics corridors, which will provide access to new markets and increase the role of Ukraine in global logistics chains. Overall, the implementation of these recommendations can lead to significant economic benefits, including GDP growth, increased exports, improved business conditions and new investment. Integration into international logistics corridors will be an important step for increasing economic stability and development of Ukraine as a key player in the global transport system.
