Abstract

This paper explores the role of logistics as an integral component of the operational-strategic management of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the conditions of growing military threats. Given the transformation in warfare, driven by high-precision weapons, unmanned systems, information warfare, and cyberattacks, logistical support is acquiring new dimensions. An analysis of domestic and foreign scientific literature has shown that the survivability of logistical facilities is one of the key criteria for ensuring the sustainability of combat operations.

It is substantiated that effective logistical support is a prerequisite for achieving combat readiness, troop mobility, and the ability to function autonomously for extended periods under conditions of isolation and informational destabilization. This study examines the main elements of logistics (coordination among service branches, risk management, continuity and reliability of supply) compared to traditional approaches to rear-area support. Particular attention is paid to the vulnerability analysis of depots, communication hubs, medical points, and repair bases operating either within or near combat zones.

It was found that current approaches to assessing survivability are fragmented and do not fully account for the nature of contemporary threats. In response to these challenges, the study proposes a unified algorithm to evaluate the survivability of logistical objects, which involves sequential steps: identifying the object, determining critical nodes, analyzing threats and vulnerabilities, modeling damage scenarios, and calculating an integral survivability coefficient.

Finally, it is concluded that modernized, digitized, and decentralized logistics –integrated with civilian structures and supported by professionalized personnel – is essential for strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The presented algorithm and methodological principles of its implementation can be applied both in military management and civil protection to enhance the resilience of critical infrastructure to modern threats.
