The article explores the theoretical and methodological foundations of branding as a multidimensional process that encompasses strategic management, consumer behavioral aspects, and technological tools for positioning in a competitive market. The main purpose of the work is to systematize the principles, functions, and methods for assessing the effectiveness of branding in the context of the modern marketing environment.
Methods. The study uses the method of comparative analysis of scientific approaches to brand management, logical-semantic generalization of the categorical apparatus, content analysis of literary sources, and a structural-functional approach to systematizing branding functions and methodological approaches to its assessment. Elements of economic and mathematical modeling are used to formalize individual performance indicators.
Results. It has been established that a successful branding strategy is based on a balance between the internal structural integration of management decisions and the external orientation to consumer needs. Three key approaches to the principles of brand management are identified: strategic-organizational, consumer-centric and managerial-methodical. It is proven that the effective implementation of branding functions requires clearly structured technologies adapted to market conditions. As a result of analytical generalization, a classification of brand activity assessment indicators into financial, marketing, image and communication is proposed. It is shown that the most informative are the indicators of brand value, level of recognition, consumer loyalty, audience involvement and ROMI. The corresponding formulas for calculating each of the indicators are given.
Conclusions. The results obtained indicate the need for an integrated approach to branding, combining strategic differentiation, analytical verification of effectiveness and constant dialogue with the target audience. The application of the described principles and methods contributes to increasing brand recognition, the formation of sustainable emotional attachment of consumers and the growth of the market value of the company's intangible assets. The results of the study have practical significance for enterprises that seek to systematically manage their brand in a highly competitive and dynamic environment.
