The article examines the role of time management as a component of the leadership competence of a modern manager under conditions of martial law and prolonged socio economic instability in Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to provide a theoretical substantiation of time management as a system forming leadership competence and to determine its significance for ensuring the effectiveness of managerial activity, organizational resilience, and adaptability in the face of crisis challenges. The methodological framework of the study is based on systemic, comparative, and analytical methods, which made it possible to generalize contemporary theoretical approaches to understanding leadership competence, time management, and crisis leadership. An interdisciplinary approach was applied, enabling the integration of the resource based view, self regulation theory, goal setting theory, and the concept of temporal leadership to analyze time management in managerial practice. The results of the study demonstrate that time management goes beyond being a tool of individual work organization and acquires the characteristics of a key leadership competence through which strategic focus, prioritization of managerial tasks, delegation of authority, and coordination of personnel activities are realized. It is proved that, under conditions of martial law, effective time management transforms from regulated planning into an adaptive mechanism for responding to uncertainty, resource scarcity, and the increased level of managerial responsibility. It is substantiated that time management performs a stabilizing function by reducing organizational uncertainty, fostering trust in leadership, and supporting the psychological capital of personnel. The obtained results confirm that time management is one of the key factors of managerial resilience and effective leadership influence in crisis and wartime conditions. The conclusions emphasize the expediency of considering time management as a strategic organizational asset and recommend integrating its development into systems for forming and assessing leadership competencies of managers. The research findings can be applied to improve management practices in domestic organizations under wartime and post war transformations.Published
